Founded in 2015, Microtek was conceptualized around the growing need for the integration of microelectronic technology with chemistry and biology. Additionally, we wanted to accelerate market acceptance of new technologies through a streamlined product development cycle. In 2015, San Diego boasted nearly 151 companies in high technology, employing more than 18,000 people. In addition, outsourcing was the number one trend in electronics assembly for the past 3 decades, accounting for over $140 billion in global sales in 2007. As a result, Microtek was well positioned to capture a significant share of this high technology market and achieved $300k in revenue in its first year of operation. We have since grown to $10M in revenue for Fiscal Year 2022. This growth reflects Microtek’s commitment to the ongoing and newly emerging needs of local organizations to integrate engineering and biochemistry to improve human health.

Microtek Inc. is structured to provide innovative microelectronics services for our customers ranging from quick-turn, same-day samples, to full product development, including the building of prototypes through full-scale production. Microelectronic technology has vastly impacted the field of medical research and development of medical devices and therapeutics. Miniaturization of electronics allows accurate dosing, sampling, sensing, or visualization of different parts of the body that are not normally readily accessible, to optimize diagnostic or therapeutic impact.
